Can I keep my telephone number(s) when I switch to NorthStar Access Telephone Service?

Yes. You keep your telephone number(s).

Can I choose any long distance carrier?

NorthStar Access works with many preferred long distance carriers such as MCI, & others. Inquire regarding your preferred carrier.

Most customers try NorthStar Access long distance and are satisfied. You'll find savings with NorthStar Access Long Distance because we have no sneaky or tricky fees like many carriers. Just simple straight forward rates, with no extra fees.

Will I need to have my house jacks rewired?

No work is needed inside your home to switch to NorthStar Access telephone service, unless you choose to add new services like an additional phone line for metro service or an Internet only line.

Do I have to do anything to make the switch?

For the vast majority of customers, NorthStar Access can normally take care of everything for you.

If by chance you change your phone number you will need to call your existing phone company and long distance company (they will not allow us to alter your account).

If you switch your Internet to NorthStar Access, you will need to call your current provider and cancel (they will not allow us to alter your account).

Will I still be able to call the metro?

The calling area you have for local calls remains the same.

What phone book will I be in?

Your phone numbers will automatically be published in the Dex directory and the NorthStar Access directory.

Yellow pages advertising is between you and the yellow page publisher. NorthStar Access plays no part in yellow pages ads. Yellow pages companies normally call you to renew ads, but you can call them to maintain your existing account.

Some minor directories get our telephone numbers. If you want to be certain your name is in any other directory besides the two listed above, you can call the other directory companies & offer your information.

Will I continue to get multiple bills for my phone service and Internet access?

All NorthStar Access services come on one convenient bill.
