Call Waiting
ID
Thank you for
choosing the Call Waiting ID feature. Below are the features and
instructions to use Call Waiting ID.
Call Waiting ID
provides you with the convenience of knowing who is on an incoming
call while talking to someone on an existing call. This allows you
to screen the incoming calls and attend to the ones that have the
highest priority at that time. You will need a display unit for Call
Waiting ID.
To use:
- You will hear
a call waiting tone when an incoming call is waiting to be answered.
Then look at your caller ID display to find out who is making the
incoming call. At this point, you have the option of answering
the new call, or ignoring it.
- If you want
to answer the new incoming call, press and release the Flash Key
to put your existing call on hold and answer the new incoming call.
- If you want
to switch between callers, simply press the Flash Key again.
- To remove
one person from your line, simply hang up.
To turn
off Call Waiting ID before placing a telephone call:
- Press *70 and
listen for three short tones, after those tones you should hear
a regular dial tone.
- Dial the telephone
number of the person you want to call.
- People calling
you during your call will hear a busy signal.
- When you are
finished with your call, hang up, and Call Waiting ID will be restored.
To turn
off Call Waiting during an existing telephone call:
- Press the Flash
Key to put your current call on hold.
- Listen for
three short tones, and then you should hear the regular dial tone.
- Press *70.
- Press the
Flash Key to return to your current call without any more interruptions.
- When you finish
your call and hang up, Call Waiting ID will be restored.
